TI-CHIPS: Meeting Minutes November 2003

The November meeting was opened with the reading of the October minutes. The minutes were accepted as read. Lin Shaw gave his Treasurer's report. There were no membership or library reports at this time.

I reported that nominations for the Jim Peterson Achievement Awards were still few and far between. (I am still hoping for a resurgence of interest from the TI community.)

The Cleveland Plain Dealer advised us that they will no longer publish computer user group announcements. However, they said that we would be invited to post our monthly announcements on their Web site. It was agreed that the Plain Dealer Web site served too narrow a readership. Therefore, it would not be in our best interests to accept the invitation. (It was great while it lasted.)

Bob Kaspar talked about the CYC CDs that were offered through the WHT site. Bob also added that the WHT CDs, not the CYC disks, were jammed with valuable TI-99/4A documentation and software. He said the site itself was a huge repository of TI-99/4A newsletters and articles. The easiest way to find the WHT site is to type in: "wht.com" into your ISP search engine and let it find it for you. (It would be a good idea to "bookmark" the site for future visitation.) {Webmaster's note: Could the site address be ftp://ftp.whtech.com/ ?}

The remainder of the meeting turned to a discussion of our December Christmas party/meeting on Saturday, December 20th, 2003. This annual, special get together will be held in the Large Meeting Room of the North Royalton branch library from 10:00 'til noon. The TI-Chips is extending an open invitation to all past or present TI'ers to join us in reminiscing about the good old times. It was suggested that Lima and Cleveland MUG Faire videotapes be brought in to be played on the library's VCR. (We hope there will be a good turn out this year, and also hope that goodies and beverages will be donated for this festive occasion.)

Les Kee won this month's 50:50 raffle. Congratulations, Les.

The meeting was adjourned with a reminder about the December meeting.
