TI-CHIPS: Meeting Minutes May 2003

The May meeting of the TI-Chips was called to order. Because of the very sparse attendance at the meeting, reading of the April minutes, Treasurer's report, Membership report and disk library report was waived.

The meeting was very short and to the point. The first order of business was to determine the status of our Web site. Since our Webmaster was unable to attend, we were only able to discuss alternative solutions. Les Kee showed me an E-mail he received from his son Scott. Scott expressed interest in taking over our web site in the event our present Webmaster is unable to provide the time required to keep the site up to date. I said I would ask Harry Hoffman to attempt to contact our Webmaster to get his views on this possibility.

I reported that Harry informed me that he will be having the first cast removed, and another smaller one put in place to continue healing of his fractured arm. I also had a short, pleasant conversation with Nina Hoffman and found that she had returned home from the hospital. Good news all the way around. Both Harry and Nina expressed their gratitude for the get-well cards from the TI-Chips.

I also took the opportunity to announce the winners of the 2003 Jim Paterson Achievement Awards. They are:

(The TI-Chips congratulates not only this year's winners, but all who were nominated for these prestigious awards.)

I reported receiving E-mail from Tom Wills that informed me that Mr. Lee Kitchens had died May 12. Mr. Kitchens was the main speaker at the renowned Fest West faire at Lubbock, Texas. Mr. Kitchens was very involved in the development of the TI-99/4A. I took the liberty to post condolences on OLUG, from the TI-Chips, to Lee Kitchens' family for their loss.

I then put on the announced demonstration of Cory Burr's Win994a simulator. This well done simulator can be downloaded at: www.99er.net/win994a.shtml

There was no raffle this month. Therefore, next month's meeting was announced to be on June 21st, at the North Royalton branch library, in the Storytime Room from 10:00 AM 'til noon, and then the meeting was adjourned.
